Developing Group Wellness In addition to being more cost-effective than individual sessions, group programs create lively and interactive settings in which to explore the many dimensions of wellness. Groups also provide wonderful opportunities for feedback, reinforcement, and modeling, help clients feel less isolated, and are a great way to enhance community relationships.

Group settings are also beneficial additions to your clinical programs, especially for patients with chronic conditions and pain.

In this course you will learn to develop effective group wellness programs for a variety of clients, patients, and conditions, and you will receive training to enhance your abilities to be an effective group facilitator. You will learn about the concept of mindfulness and its applications to fitness, stress reduction, and injury prevention, and you will obtain a model for a group wellness class that you can modify to develop your own program for any client or patient population.

During this two-day course you will:

* learn the advantages of the group model and improve your ability to be an effective group leader;
* be able to present a variety of wellness topics (fitness, stress reduction, injury prevention, and nutrition) to a group in a way that is effective, engaging, and enjoyable;
* be able to apply the concept of mindfulness in wellness and rehabilitation settings; and
* review a sample group wellness program and use it to create and market wellness programs of your own.
