Sports massage techniques applied in an invigorating fashion increase energy and provide neuromuscular stimulation. After exercise, cool-down techniques promote relaxation and fluid return. Between exercise sessions, sports massage techniques address areas of adhesion and range of motion.
Sports massage utilizes techniques therapists already use in practice, such as PNF, Trigger Point Therapy, stretching, and heat/cold modalities, to benefit individuals during different phases of exercise and training. In this course you will learn:
- general and specific sports massage techniques;
- to use timing and rhythm to enhance the effectiveness of your massage;
- sports massage techniques for pre-event, post-event, and maintenance applications; and
- how to integrate different techniques into an enjoyable, effective and marketable massage.
